Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
What Are the Symptoms of Carpel Tunnel?
The main symptoms are pain, numbness and tingling in the thumb, index finger, middle finger and the thumb side of the ring finger.

Symptoms typically start gradually may be through the night. Pain may extend up into the arm. As it worsens you may have a weakness in grip strength. The muscles at the base of the thumb may waste away. In more than half the cases both sides are affected.

What Causes Carpel Tunnel?
Inflammation of the flexor tendons from repetitive hand movements like typing for long hours at a time, manual work that involves lifting and carrying heavy objects etc.

There may be a bone fixated in the wrist causing increased pressure through the carpel tunnel. There may also be irritation from a central lesion in the neck, this may also aggravate both sides to become involve.

What Can Eastern Suburbs Chiropractic Do for Me?
We will give you a thorough examination looking for fixations and misalignments that may be associated with nerves that travel down your arm to your hand.

We will adjust these misalignments so your body may heal to its optimum potential. We will also examine your wrist to correct any bones that are causing increased pressure and swelling through the carpel tunnel.

We may give you exercises and sometimes we will recommend a splint.

The sooner you get some treatment the better.
